Stay ahead of the flood. Our dashboard provides live, actionable data to help you make informed decisions when it matters most.
The Hulu Langat Flood Risk Dashboard is a public information tool designed to provide residents, authorities, and stakeholders with a centralized, easy-to-understand overview of the flood situation in the region. By consolidating and analyzing live data from official JPS Selangor sources, we aim to enhance community preparedness and response.
Everything you need to stay informed and safe.
Visualize real-time water level and rainfall data across all monitoring stations in Hulu Langat.
Our system analyzes multiple factors, including rainfall intensity and rate of water level change, to calculate a simple risk score.
Enable auto-refresh to receive proactive notifications when any station's status is upgraded to an alert level.
Access the full dashboard on any device. The interface is optimized for both desktop and mobile use.
Floods are complex events. Our dashboard simplifies this by analyzing two key data points: Water Levels and Rainfall. Here's how they contribute to the overall risk assessment.
This measures the height of the river at specific monitoring stations. We analyze two critical aspects:
Each station has predefined levels. Crossing these thresholds adds points to the risk score, with "Danger" level contributing the most.
A river that is rising very quickly (e.g., more than 0.5 meters in a short period) is a major warning sign. This "rapid rise" adds a significant number of points to the risk score, acting as an early warning.
Rainfall is a primary driver of floods. We look at it in two ways:
A very large amount of rain in the last 24 hours (e.g., >60mm) can overwhelm drainage systems quickly. "Very Heavy" short-term rain adds a high number of points to the risk score.
Prolonged rain over several days saturates the ground, meaning any new rain will immediately run off into rivers. A high 7-day total (>150mm) adds points to the score.
The dashboard adds up all the "risk points" from every station. The final Risk Score determines the overall status. The Contributing Factors list shows you exactly which events (e.g., "Danger level at Station X") are responsible for the current risk level. This makes the assessment transparent and easy to trace back to the source data.
A quick guide to understanding the interface.
The card at the top provides an immediate, color-coded risk assessment (Low, Moderate, High, Extreme) and identifies key areas of concern.
Click on any station marker (water or rainfall) on the map to view its latest readings and status in a popup.
Clicking a marker or an item from the "Contributing Factors" list will display a 7-day historical data chart for that station.
Use the "Start Auto-Refresh" button to get automatic data updates and receive on-screen notifications for any escalating situations.

Launch DashboardThis dashboard is an informational tool developed for educational and community preparedness purposes. It is not an official government warning system. All water level and rainfall data is provided by the Jabatan Pengairan dan Saliran (JPS) Selangor. While every effort is made to ensure the data is timely and accurate, users should always refer to official announcements from government agencies during an emergency.
